Our Story

We are a father and son, living in jackson hole, wyoming, who’s passion for fishing, travel and campfire tales has driven us around the globe. Now we are using these skills to help encourage others to create the most unique, life changing, one-off trips possible.

We live and embody an β€˜and’ lifestyle; chasing both the β€˜work hard’ and the β€˜play hard’ sides of life.

David is a third generation Colorado native now living in Jackson Hole Wyoming. A +40 year world traveler, expedition leader, successful entrepreneur, and lifelong learner, David has a wealth of global expedition experience:

  • Have visited most countries and most regions of the world.

  • 1.5 years of solo backbacking in SE Asia, China, Japan including Lhasa, Tibet and circumnavigating the Taklamakan desert, several months at Zen monasteries in Kyoto, Japan, and 30 day Buddhist silence retreat in Thailand at Wat Suan Moke.

  • 9 months Camper Van thru Western and Eastern Europe including Lofoton Islands and Northern Norway

  • 9 months hitchhiking western, central, and southern Africa with wife.

  • Filmed the Iditarod Dog Sled Race across over 1100 miles of Alaskan Arctic in 1995 and produced a one hour national TV program

  • Brought 50 Japanese, 50 Americans, and 50 Russians on a pioneering First river ascent on Katun river Barnaul, Siberia

  • Organized and produced several John Denver music events including an NHK (Japanese national TV) broadcast environmental event and  concert in Tokyo, Japan and evening event in Aspen Colorado.

  • 6 months as Country Leader of the Chile phase of Operation Raleigh bringing over 100 young people for first expedition activities including

    • collecting ice cores from the calving San Rafael Glacier in central Chile

    • scientific support operations for Northern Patagonia ice field

    • personally led a First ever Expedition Route (and road survey) from Coyhaique to San Rafael Glacier.

    • Built fire lookouts and dock facilities as infrastructure for the Laguna San Rafael National Park.

    • Support for Doctors without Borders

  • Producer and a key organizer of a 32 country β€œ4th World White Water Championships” on the fast-flowing Choruh river in Eastern Turkey (also created an ESPN2 special)

  • Organized and managed a humanitarian food effort that included bringing +6000 vehicles loaded with food to Haiti during the US embargo

  • Organized a national newspaper campaign that led to more than Β½ million donated used Japanese eyeglasses to Sri Lankan villages and various efforts to encourage education of young girls

  • Lived and worked in Tokyo, Japan almost 3 years

  • High impact Personal growth training programs for over 25,000 Japanese and Americans.

  • 5 years of producing Japan National grant funded cross cultural programming for US Junior Highand and High School distance learning

  • Filmed on location and produced Documentary on Harvard Negotiation Project and Roger Fisher (Getting to Yes).

    •  Israel/Palestine Conflict filmed at West Bank;

    • Greek Cyprus Turkish Cyprus Border filmed in No Man’s Land;

    • SouthAfrica/ANC filmed in South Africa

    • Government/FMLN guerilla leaders in El Salvador;

    • inner city Boston youth gangs in gang neighborhood.

 

  • Family travel including over 100 scuba dives 3 kids thru high school – Costa Rica, Northern Thailand, Tioman Islands, Red Sea, Istanbul, Lake Champlain, Nova Scotia, France, Maldives,

  • Ran with the Bulls, San Fermin Festival - at 65 years old (family and friends)

  • Fishing at a Seychelles outer island (Alphonse)

  • Peacock Bass, Arawana, Piranha in Brazilian Amazon

  • Fishing Aripaima, Payara,Wolf Fish, and Pacu in Guyana

  • Fishing Arctic Char, Tree River, NWT Canada above the Arctic Circle

  • Fishing Zebra Trout, in the Pyrenees, Spain

  • Fishing/Camping one month travel Iceland

  • Extensive camping USA Colorado Rockies

  • UTVs Glamis CA/Arizona and Moab Utah

  • Various hunting/ sporting clays/ and target pistol events

  • World wide and lots of small river Western USA – WY/ID/MT Fly/Conventional/Ice/SaltWater/and BlueWater fishing with my son Mac (+50 days a year last 3 years)

David has over 25 years of M&A, investment Banking, former CEO and current Chairman of the Board for a major Aviation Equipment supplier. David mentors’ businesses and business owners at all levels from startups through family business under transition, to PE backed, to valuations of up to several Billion USD.

Mac is a fourth generation Colorado native who grew up above 8,000 feet in the mountains near Golden. He loves gear, and obsesses over the setup of fly, spin, and ice tackle. Now living in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, he is 26 years young, but has a repertoire of global experience far beyond his years:

  • 4 years competed in downhill mountain bike racing.

  • 6 years competed on the Freeride World Tour Qualifier circuit for skiing

    • Including 2 years of top 20 finishes in North America

  • 2 years as captain of the freeskiing team for the University of Colorado Boulder

    • Organized all travel and housing for 40+ athletes competing in the US and Canada

  • Organized, planned, and prepped gear for 20+ backcountry ski expeditions/filming trips to:

    • Revelstoke, BC, Canada

    • Golden, BC, Canada

    • Nelson, BC Canada

    • Mt Baker, Washington

    • Truckee, California

    • Wasatch Mountains, Utah

    • San Juan Mountains, Colorado

    • Beartooth Mountains / Cooke City, Montana

    • Teton Mountains, Wyoming

  • Planned and organized a 3 Vehicle overland expedition into remote areas of Canyonlands National Park

  • Pioneered 4 never-been-done bouldering routes in Utah

  • Scouted and set up a winter hot tent base camp for backcountry snowmobiling in the Snowy Mountain Range in Colorado

  • Ran with the Bulls, Fiesta de San Fermin, Pamplona, Spain

  • Fished in Brazil, Iceland, Guyana, Spain, NWT, Canada, Nunavut, Canada, and over 200 locations in the Western USA

  • Lifetime of Family and Solo Travel including:

    • Drove across Interior Mexico

    • Crossed South Africa to visit Kruger National Park

    • Scuba Dived in Northern Mozambique

    • Scuba Dived in the Red Sea, Hurghada, Egypt

    • Visited the Great Pyramids, Cairo, Egypt

    • Explored culture and history in Japan

    • Spent time in refugee villages in Northern Thailand

    • Visited Istanbul, Turkey

    • Visited France

    • Drove from Punta Arenas to Coyhaique in Southern Argentina/Chile

    • Scuba Dived with Manta Rays in Maldives

    • Camped, road tripped, and fished 4 weeks around Iceland

    • Backpacked around Costa Rica for 4 months

    • Climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania

  • 100+ Open Water Scuba Dives

    • Including dry suit diving and Nitrox diving

In addition, Mac has a background in Real Estate based Private Equity and worked as an analyst building financial models for the development of Yellowstone Club, Spanish Peaks, and Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana. He has also worked with family office investments across debt, equity, real estate, and oil/gas.
